Almost to Goal!

I've been watching what I eat and working out for a while now and it's starting to pay off. My goal was to lose 20 pounds by July 26 (next doctor appt) and I'm almost there! So far, I've lost 13.6 pounds and it's only June 2! That means I have 53 days to lose roughly 7 pounds. If I can't lose 7 pounds in almost 2 months, something's wrong with me.


Starting tomorrow, I'm taking it up a notch. In addition to my bike, I'm going to start kickboxing, which is guaranteed to make me sweat! I can't believe how empowered, inspired, and motivated I feel right now. I love it!

This weekend has been a true test for me, that's for sure. Yesterday, I attended my sister's bridal shower and was surrounded by some of my all-time favorite foods (mac and cheese, macaroni salad, wings, and CAKE). But, I'm happy to report that all I ate was fresh fruit. Thank God for the person who brought that! I had cantaloupe and strawberries with water and not the other stuff.

We also had dinner at my mom's last night and there was fried chicken, cheddar broccoli rice, and string beans (cooked with fat meat). I brought my own food. That's right; I brought boneless, skinless chicken breast marinated in olive oil, Italian seasoning, and Mrs. Dash garlic and herb. I also brought a single serving of brown rice and that's all I ate.

I'm so proud of myself because I could have easily eaten everything available to me. I'm so happy I didn't do that because I wouldn't feel this way right now. I'm ready to go to the doctor in July so she can see the progress I've made. If I can't completely come off my meds, maybe the dosage can be decreased a little. Even if my meds are decreased, it's a step in the right direction.

Time for me to get going. I've been on the go all day and it's time for some much needed family time.
